The Student Pastor leads and grows a thriving ministry for students in grades 6-12, inspiring them to follow Jesus and live out their faith. This role is hands-on and forward-looking: building new programs, strengthening existing ones, and equipping students and volunteers for leadership. The Student Pastor will engage directly with students, parents, and the broader community to create meaningful, Christ-centered connections and measurable spiritual growth. Qualifications
- A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the church’s mission and values.
- Proven ability to build programs, develop leaders, and measure impact.
- Theological training or equivalent ministry experience (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Youth Ministry, Theology, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on student ministry leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills across generations, with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- A heart for relational ministry, humility, and authenticity.
- Teachable spirit with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities Program Development and Leadership
- Build and expand dynamic weekly programs:
- SURGE (6th-8th) on Wednesday nights
- ALTÆR (9th-12th) on Thursday nights
- Design and implement Bible studies, discipleship pathways, and small group experiences.
- Develop measurable outcomes for student engagement and spiritual growth (attendance, volunteer involvement, student-led initiatives, etc.).
- Launch and mentor student leadership teams (8th grade and senior leadership), providing leadership development goals and accountability.
- Plan and execute annual retreats, mission trips, and outreach events that challenge students to serve and grow in faith.
- Pastoral Care- Be present and proactive in students’ lives, e.g., regularly attending their games, performances, and school events.
Community and Family Engagement
- Communicate weekly with parents through newsletters, social media, and personal updates.
- Equip parents with resources, workshops, and discussion guides to help them disciple their teens at home.
- Engage actively in the community – attending school events, hosting outreach activities, and connecting with unchurched students.
