The first snowstorm of the season blanketed New England Tuesday, leading to travel disruptions and several reported car accidents throughout the region.
Leominster received at least four inches of snow throughout the afternoon, sending plow operators outside to clear the roads and homeowners dusting off their shovels.
“Strategy is not my strong suit,” said April Dusea, who was shoveling her driveway. “But I’ve been coming out as I got the bursts of energy, so I’m like let’s go shovel again and the kids love being out here too.”
“It’s wet and heavy at the same time. Definitely easy to take off the car, not sticky or icy,” said Gabriella Melo, who was cleaning off her car.
Many drivers said they were taking it slow on the roads.
“I’m on break, in a hurry, but in a slow hurry and that kind of works in this weather,” said Bill Lambert, who was out driving in the wintry conditions.
Trudging through the fresh blanked of snow, 7NEWS spoke to postal carrier Michelle Moyo, who said the weather doesn’t delay deliveries on her watch.
“Nothing [stops us],” Moyo said. “We’re here seven days a week. Even in this stuff! You see me, live in the flesh!”
Pat Boudreau was buckled in behind the wheel of his snow plow, as much of his day was spent wrestling with the snow.
“It’s a little heavier than usual, but, I mean, we’re used to it!” Boudreau said.
Others embraced the weather, saying it gets them in the holiday spirit.
“It’s just cozy, and it’s a part of the holidays, and it makes me happy!” exclaimed on resident.
