Description:
NTG Staffing is currently seeking a Signage Estimator for a client located in Houston, TX (77086). This is a direct hire, full-time, onsite opportunity within a manufacturing facility.
Pay: $80,000 – $110,000 (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week
Location: Houston, TX 77086 (onsite)
Summary:
The Signage Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for custom signage projects, including large pylons, channel letters, monuments, neon, and electronic signs. This role plays a key part in supporting pricing strategies that drive profitability and align with project goals.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop accurate project estimates
- Identify labor, materials, equipment, and installation time requirements
- Prepare detailed bids and proposals aligned with design intent, budget, and timelines
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to ensure pricing supports profitability
- Track and analyze pricing data, market trends, and material/labor costs
- Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality
- Conduct post-project profitability reviews to improve future estimates
- Participate in internal bid review meetings to present and refine pricing strategies
Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience in custom signage estimating (including complex signage projects)
- Preferred: Strong understanding of signage fabrication processes, timelines, and cost-analysis methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project specs accurately
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with signage materials, fabrication, and installation logistics
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) for site walks
