Seth Meyers' 4-year-old makes hilarious appearance on ‘Late Night'

Seth Meyers had the best late night.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum welcomed three very special guests during the Thanksgiving episode of “Late Night With Seth Meyers” his and wife Alexi Ashe’s children Ashe, 9, Axel, 7, and Adelaide, 4. And while Ashe and Axel certainly had fun on stage with their dad, it was Adelaide — a.k.a. Addie — who stole the show.

As Meyers asked the three what they dressed up as for their Thanksgiving and Christmas cards on the Nov. 27 episode, Addie yelled out “Turkey,” before also saying she dressed up as “Elf-aba.”

“You were Alphabet?” Meyers asked, to which Ashe corrected him, saying, “She said Elphaba.”

But as Axel explained, they had dressed up as characters from the 2003 movie “Elf,” with Addie giving a shout out to their cousin Agnes who “was a tomato.”

She also had the audience cackling as she told them about arriving at the studio via the subway. “The subway smelled like diarrhea.”

The observation also made her brothers laugh, as Meyers asked his daughter about her older siblings.

“Addie, are your brothers silly?” he asked. She responded in the affirmative and gave them each a friendly smack before bursting into a fit of laughter.

When asked which brother is “sweetest” to her, she gave eldest brother Ashe a big hug, before gently attacking Axel when asked, “Which brother is roughest to you.”

Addie then gave Ashe another hug as she pointed at Axel, saying, “I love this one, but not that one.”

And the bond between Ashe and Addie is certainly a special one, as Meyers shared it was Ashe who really wanted a younger sister.

Not to be out done by his siblings, Axel had his own moment in the spotlight as he danced for the audience, with Meyers joking, “Sometimes you can just tell when Axel wants to dance, can’t you.”

As for Addie, she wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the stage quite yet, leaning into her mic and yelling, “No, no, no, no,” when her dad said it was time to wrap up the interview.

And as can be expected, fans were delighted by the Meyers children’s appearance on the show — especially Addie.

“Oh she knows she’s funny,” one wrote in the TikTok comments. Another added, “Her crowd work is perfection.”

While Addie left her dad perplexed by her answers several times in the interview, Meyers later figured out exactly what his daughter was trying to say.

“Lest anyone think Addie was talking nonsense,” he wrote on Instagram Nov. 28, “some of her most confusing answers made a ton of sense.”

He included a photo of Addie’s cousin Agnes dressed up in a red elf costume, hence Addie thinking she had dressed up as a tomato. As for her saying she had dressed up as “Elf-aba” instead of an elf? That came about courtesy of Elphaba herself Cynthia Erivo, one of Seth’s guests on the night they filmed.

“Special shout out to @cynthiaerivo,” he continued, “for taking the time to talk to her right before her interview!”
