Rep. Lisa Demuth chooses running mate in race for governor

Minnesota Republican Governor candidate Lisa Demuth has chosen a running mate in attorney Ryan Wilson. “Wilson narrowly lost a 2022 race for state auditor. He also represented the GOP caucus in the state Supreme Court this year when the House was unable to muster enough members to meet,” MPR News reports.

A new clinic aims to provide culturally responsive care in the Ventura Village neighborhood of Minneapolis. Munira Maalimisaq worked as a nurse practitioner before founding Inspire Change Clinic, and “has seen that some patients of color weren’t having their needs met,” Sahan Journal reports.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders endorsed Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan for Senate. Flanagan is vying for the seat that will be vacated by retiring Sen. Tina Smith. “Flanagan has already been endorsed by Massachusetts Democratic Sens. Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren, who campaigned for Flanagan at the State Fair,” reports Minnesota Reformer.

Minnesota is among the states impacted by an infant botulism outbreak linked to baby formula, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Bring Me the News reports that illness has been reported in one infant in the Minnesota, and 13 across the U.S. The outbreak has been linked to ByHeart Whole Nutrition infant formula.
