ST. LOUIS – A man accused of shooting “blow darts” at two people in St. Louis this week is now behind bars on felony charges.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged Dillon Lambert, 22, of St. Ann, Missouri, with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with two blow dart incidents.
A “blow dart” is a small, pointed, metal projectiles typically launched from a blowgun or a blowpipe by a person’s breath.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that Lambert was linked to two blow dart incidents within 24 hours.
On Wednesday, a woman reported leaving a restaurant in the 5200 block of Hampton Avenue around 8 p.m. when a blow dart struck a box of leftovers she was carrying. Police say she was not injured.
On Thursday, a man reported being struck by a blow dart in the left leg at a restaurant in the 6600 block of Chippewa Street around 7 p.m. The man was not seriously injured, but he initially felt a sting in his inner left thigh.
When police responded to the scene Thursday, they obtained security footage from several nearby businesses and identified a suspect vehicle.
The suspect, later identified as Lambert, was wearing a fast-food delivery shirt and had made a food delivery nearby prior to the incident. Authorities responded to a food establishment where he worked and took him into custody.
St. Louis police say investigators seized around 30 blow darts and a blowgun from Lanbert’s vehicle.
Lambert was booked into jail without bond and is awaiting a court date on his charges, according to Missouri online court records.
