Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
Schedule: Monday- Thursday, 5:00am to 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $19/hr.
Overview
Join our fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment as the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator. You will be the sole person responsible for managing the flow of all incoming and outgoing materials and products, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all logistics operations. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, adaptable individual who thrives on juggling multiple tasks and maintaining an organized, orderly inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping and Logistics

Process Shipments: Prepare, weigh, pack, and schedule outgoing freight orders, ensuring all packaging is adequate to prevent damage and all shipments meet specific customer carrier, labeling, and documentation requirements.

Rate Management: Utilize available tools and knowledge of logistics methods to determine the most cost-effective shipping methods and rates.

Documentation: Generate and verify all required documentation (packing lists, Certificates of Conformance, Country of Origin, to match job travelers and customer specifications.

System Transactions: Accurately and timely process all outbound shipping transactions in the MRP system.

Issue Resolution: Work proactively with Customer Service and Accounting to resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues.

Supply Management: Maintain a ready inventory of all packaging materials and supplies.
Receiving and Inventory Control

Receiving: Load and unload trucks, receive all incoming packages, and verify deliveries against purchase orders. Deliver receiving invoices to the Accounting department by the required deadline.

Material Handling: Label material according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) requirements, create lot numbers, and put away material in an orderly and timely manner.

System Accuracy: Ensure all inventory transactions in the MRP system match the physical location and accurately allocate material within the system.

Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate, organized inventory through regular cycle counts and scheduled full inventory counts. Investigate and report inventory variances and material shortages to the manager and purchasing/buyer.

Production Support: Timely and accurately kit production job travelers as needed.
Safety and Quality

Quality Control: Use authority to stop a non-conforming part or product by immediately notifying the Supervisor or Quality Inspector.

Safety Compliance: Maintain a current Forklift Certification and strictly adhere to all company safety rules and OSHA safety requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Technical Skills: Proficient with computer systems and software; demonstrated ability to accurately complete transactions within an MRP system.

Certification: Current Forklift Certification is required.

Physical: Ability to safely and frequently lift and move items over 49 pounds. Must be able to perform physically demanding activities (standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching) repeatedly throughout an 8-10 hour shift.

Competency with basic math skills and frequent use of measuring tools.
