High school roundup/scores: Shawsheen Tech claims Div. 1 North wrestling title

The Shawsheen Tech wrestling team dominated the Division 1 North Sectional field Saturday in Methuen, rolling to the title with 258.5 points. Placing first for the Rams were Dante Giusti (126 pounds), James Tildsley (157) and Logan Holmes (190). Ethan Caceres (120) and Hadi Sibay (138) came in second place. Placing third were Tristan Lane (165), Thomas Conn (113), Kyle Dube (10 6) and Gavin Lane (132). Headlined by first-place titles from Dylan Walker (120), Samson Xayachack (150) and Jaden Merwin, Tyngsboro/Dracut edged Gloucester for the Division 3 North Sectional title. Boys hockey Jack Melly scored the game-winner in overtime as Reading outlasted Archbishop Williams 1-0 in the Buddy Ferreira Classic. Girls hockey Maddie Cantor finished with two tallies and two assists, including her 100th career point,  as Norwell/Scituate/Abington rolled over Patriot League opponent Plymouth 8-2. Sabrina Stone netted the overtime goal with 17 seconds left as Milton edged Malden Catholic 2-1 in a nonleague matchup. … Avery Sico recorded a shutout in net as St. Mary’s blanked Bishop Stang, 2-0, in a Catholic Central League tilt.
