The 91st annual Chicago Thanksgiving Parade will step off this week, kicking off a day of celebration throughout the area.
That parade steps off plenty early in the day for families to get back together in the afternoon and evening hours, and will feature musical performances, floats and a whole lot more.
According to parade organizers, things will get underway at the intersection of Ida B. Wells Drive and State Street at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday, with the parade running through at least 11 a.m.
The parade route travels down State Street from Ida B. Wells Drive to Randolph Street, with thousands of revelers expected to attend.
According to organizers, Maurice “Chef Blaque” Shelton is the Grand Marshal of the parade. He is the founder of Steel City Bakery and Black Rose Pastries, and has appeared on multiple Food Network and Netflix competition shows, according to a press release.
This year’s parade will include floats, giant balloons, marching bands and live entertainment, including a performance from the Jesse White Tumblers, according to officials.
The parade will air on CBS Thursday morning, and will reair on Pluto later in the day. More information can be found on the parade website.
