Eagles injury report: DeVonta Smith good to go against the Bears

After dealing with multiple injuries and an illness this week, Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith has no game status and is good to go agains the Bears on Black Friday.

Smith (shoulder/chest/illness) was not given a game status on the final injury report of the week and was listed as a full participant, while three Eagles players were ruled out:

Out: RT Lane Johnson (foot), WR Xavier Gipson (shoulder), OT Myles Hinton (back)

The Eagles have no players listed as questionable.

The Eagles also elevated OLB Patrick Johnson and S Andre’ Sam from the practice squad for Friday’s game.

All four players who were limited on Wednesday — RB Saquon Barkley (groin), S Reed Blankenship (thigh), G Landon Dickerson (knee), DE Brandon Graham (groin) — were listed as full participants on Thursday and will play on Friday.

Smith began the week as a non-participant with a shoulder and chest injury and did not practice on Wednesday as an “illness” was added next to his name. Smith, 27, has been having a big season. The 2021 first-round pick leads the Eagles in receiving this season with 754 yards on 55 catches with 3 touchdowns.

The Eagles did not activate OL Willie Lampkin off IR as his 21-day practice window expired. That means he’ll remain on IR for the rest of his rookie season. The Eagles ruled out fellow rookie offensive lineman Hinton, whose practice window is still open.

The Eagles on Wednesday placed safety Drew Mukuba on IR. Mukuba had surgery to repair a fractured ankle and announced on Wednesday night that it went well.

To replace Mukuba on the roster, the Eagles promoted WR/RS Britain Covey from the practice squad. Covey also got his No. 18 back on Wednesday and will be the Eagles’ punt returner against the Bears.

Xavier Gipson, who has been the punt returner, suffered a shoulder injury against the Cowboys and has been ruled out for the Bears game. Gipson was able to avoid serious injury and will not need surgery, a league source told NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, the Bears will be without their top three linebackers in this game. Tremaine Edmunds is on IR and the Bears on Thursday ruled out T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell.

But the Bears will get DBs Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon back from IR for this game.
