Denver weather: Cool Sunday, but back to the 70s next week

DENVER (KDVR) — It won’t last long, but the Denver weather forecast sees a rare chilly day for Sunday with continuing sunshine. That said, the metro area will be right back into the 70s starting Monday.

Weather tonight: Cold, but not as windy

Cold, but quiet, overnight Saturday.

Breezy conditions will gradually end overnight Saturday. Skies will be clear. Temperatures fall into the lower 20s with a light northeast wind turning to the southwest. Some locations will wake up to colder temperatures Sunday morning.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny and cool

Below normal temperatures Sunday.

After a cold start to the day, afternoon highs Sunday will be below normal – something the metro hasn’t seen a lot this autumn. Expect highs to be on either side of 50 degrees in northeast Colorado. Some locations on the plains may even stay in the 40s for highs.

Looking ahead: Yet another warm week

If you’re not a fan of the cold then you’ve probably really enjoyed this long stretch of unseasonably warm and sunny weather. Temperatures jump over 20 degrees Monday with highs near 70. Temperatures stay near 70 for the remainder of the work week.

Another very warm November week coming up.

The long-range forecast may finally be showing signs of a changing weather pattern. Temperatures next weekend look to fall back into the 50s with overnight lows around freezing. Denver metro may also see its first significant storm system of the season, bringing a potential for much-needed snow in the high country. As for whether Denver and the plains will see any moisture (rain or snow) remains to be seen.
