A phone line and email set up for potential victims of a suburban chiropractor who secretly recorded patients as they undressed was contacted more than 1,000 times in the past month, Kane Country State’s Attorney Jaime Mosser said.
After charging Batavia chiropractor David Hanson earlier this month with numerous counts of producing, disseminating and possessing child pornography and unauthorized video recording of a minor, Mosser said the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office set up the email and phone line for potential victims to contact them.
As of Friday, they received over 1,200 calls and emails, Mosser said.
Kane County State’s Attorney said they received a “high volume of calls and emails” after their news release announcing charges against Hansen in a post on Facebook on Nov. 9.
The state’s attorney’s office previously said Hanson videotaped more than 180 patients as they undressed or unclothed using hidden cameras “secretly placed throughout his chiropractic office.”
The victims were mostly female and range in age from children to adults.
Many of the recordings appeared to be taken in a red light room, authorities said.
According to its website, Hanson Family Chiropractic was voted Kane County’s “best chiropractor.” Hanson, who was born and raised in Batavia, says on the site he received his doctor of chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences before becoming certified in pediatrics and the Webster Technique for pregnant women.
Anyone who believes they or a minor in their care were victimized, or those who may have additional information on the case, are asked to call (630) 444-3322 or email SAOVictimHotline@KaneCountyIL.gov.
