Amir Satvat’s game community has now helped 5,000 people find jobs in gaming

Game job champion Amir Satvat said his Always Supporting the Games Community (AGSC) group has assisted 5,000 people in finding jobs in gaming. It’s a job that never seems to end, as the game industry is always expanding — or always laying off game workers — and Satvat provides the most thorough collection of game job listings and other services like mentoring in the hopes of getting better positions for job seekers. It’s pretty amazing that Satvat does this work in his spare time. In a post on LinkedIn, Satvat noted, “Friends, I want to take five minutes out of the incredible hardship that continues for our community and our industry to acknowledge a major milestone.” He added, “I use the word acknowledge because I don’t even want to say something like celebrate. With nearly 15,000 laid off industry people (not including those who are early career or who simply gave up looking for industry work) still displaced, and many likely cuts and unpredictability to come, there are too many still hurting.” Satvat’s data is perhaps the best there is when it comes to providing transparency for game job seekers. More than seven million people have visited his online community over time to date. And more than 10,000 people to date have done something to help those job seekers. He thanked all those people. “As I always remind people, we don’t ‘get anybody a job.’ Candidates get themselves jobs and they deserve 100.0% of the credit,” he wrote. Amir Satvat…
