It’s a simple thing that James Katona has been collecting for kids each year: Pajamas.
Last year, Katona, known as Bubba by his friends, showed NBC10 how he was collecting pajamas for the fourth year in a row to donate them to patients at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
Now in his fifth year, Bubba is hoping to increase his goal from 500 pairs to 1,000 this holiday season.
“They need a lot of teen and infant pajamas because we didn’t get many of them last year,” Bubba said.
For Bubba, this collection drive means a lot. He was burned on 13% of his body when he was just 4-years-old and he couldn’t wear his normal clothes, so he’d turn to pajamas instead.
“I couldn’t wear tight clothing,” Bubba explained.
“I just want the other kids that are going through what I did to have the same feeling every day,” Bubba said.
Bubba also explained that if you want to help, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to make a difference, because just one pair of pajamas changes everything.
If you don’t have the means to buy, Bubba is asking everyone to share his efforts on social media so others can try to help too.
