This iconic Wildwood attraction retires after over 25 years at Morey's Piers

After over 25 years of making hearts race and knees shake, the SkyCoaster at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey, has officially retired.

The popular amusement park announced the closure of the ride in a social media post over the weekend, reading in part:

“Thank you to everyone who faced their fears and took the leap with us! As we say goodbye to this iconic ride, we’re already hard at work reimagining Adventure Pier so that there can be many more adventures to come in future years.”

The SkyCoaster was described as a ride that was part skydiving and part hang gliding.

If you dared to get on, you would soar from a height of over 100 feet and out over Wildwood’s beaches, taking in stunning views right before screaming on the way down.

But don’t worry, adrenaline fans, there are still plenty of other rides along the pier if you want to fly high, including the SkyScraper, Wave Swinger, and the Screamin’ Swing.

The SkyCoaster may be retiring, but the thrills certainly aren’t.
