A man called into a D.C. radio station and said he saw a dead body weeks earlier in Frederick, Maryland. Police searched the area and found someone dead.
A man who called himself Joseph called in to “Elliot in the Morning” on DC101 on Friday and launched into a story about being out “exploring nature.”
“Look what I came upon,” the caller said on audio the show provided to News4.
“Dude, you found a dead body?” the host asks.
“Yes,” the caller replies.
“Dude, call the police!” the host repeatedly urges him.
The radio caller said he saw the body in a “tent city” in Frederick and it remained there “as of, whatever, 18 days ago.”
Later Friday, the Frederick Police Department said they were aware of information shared on a radio show about someone found dead in a wooded area off East Street and Carroll Creek Crossing.
Detectives responded and found someone dead. An investigation is underway.
The name of the person who died was not immediately released, nor was information on how they may have died. It was unclear if the radio caller contacted police.
Anyone with potentially relevant information is asked to contact police.
