Driver rescued after crash down rocky mountain slope near Big Bear

A driver was hospitalized Tuesday after crashing off a road and tumbling about 200 feet down the side of a San Bernardino County mountain slope.

San Bernardino County and Big Bear firefighters rescued the woman using a rope system that allowed them to bring her up the rocky slope to an ambulance on Highway 18. The woman, the only person in the car, was transported in a helicopter to the hospital.

Details about her condition were not immediately available.
