Customer throws hot coffee on manager at McDonald's in Michigan, video shows

A customer at a Michigan McDonald’s who was captured on camera throwing coffee at an employee was later identified by police, law enforcement said.

The Buena Vista Police Department shared video on Facebook, asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman who hurled hot coffee at a manager at McDonald’s in Buena Vista Township outside of Saginaw, MLive reported.

Buena Vista Township Police Detective Russ Pahssen told MLive, on Tuesday, the customer had placed an online order and sought a refund for two sandwiches.

Footage showed the woman, who was angered over the order, accuse the manager of lying and claim she had been waiting for over an hour. At one point, the manager said, “You are not listening,” to which the customer replied, “I’m listening.”

The manager then stated, “No, you are trying to argue with me.”

As the encounter appeared to end without a resolution, the manager said, “you have a great day” and began to walk away. At that point, the woman took the lid off her coffee and threw it at the manager.

“F— you, b—–!” the customer yelled. “Catch that hot a– coffee!”

The manager sustained minor burns, police stated.

Phassen said the suspect was identified within minutes of the video being posted on Facebook.

While police were unable to locate the suspect as of Friday, they have submitted paperwork to the local prosecutor, requesting she be charged with felony assault, the detective stated.
