TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. (WFLA) — The Treasure Island Bridge will be closed to both vehicle and boat traffic as crews replace cylinders.
The bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday until Oct. 24, the City of Treasure Island said.
During the recent cylinder replacement work, a new leak was discovered, and it was determined that all 15 remaining cylinders will be rebuilt to ensure the bridge operates safely and reliably.
The work will take place in phases over four separate weeks as cylinders are removed and reinstalled.
The City of Treasure Island asked the community to use the John’s Pass Bridge or Blind Pass Bridge as alternate routes.
“We appreciate your patience as we complete these vital safety improvements to ensure the bridge remains dependable for years to come,” The City of Treasure Island said on a Facebook post.
